A Long Expected Update

Hey friends,

Thank you for sticking with me despite long periods of inactivity over here. I will get back to this series one day, and hopefully with consistency when that day comes. In addition to my teaching roles, I am currently working on a Tolkien-related book, which should be getting a publishing contract this month, a screenplay that I will hopefully be able to talk about at a later date, and I am getting ready for the new Tolkien course that kicks off next month. There are a lot of exciting things in the works, but, as I mostly need to prioritize work that pays the bills, the Stack will continue to be on the backburner for the time being.

In case you missed it, or if you need a reminder, next month we will be starting our 12-week course titled, “The Wisdom of Tolkien: The Lord of the Rings.” This course includes the following:

• A reading schedule so we can travel the Road together.

• Recommended secondary reading

• Two pre-recorded videos per week. The first will be a shorter video on a relevant topic, source of inspiration, something from elsewhere in the legendarium, etc. The second video will act as a guide and companion for the assigned reading and generally run something in the range of 30 minutes - 1 hour.

• Weekly live meetings to discuss the reading. These will be recorded and made available in case you cannot attend.

• Ongoing Discord conversation, which tends to be great for community building.
