The Mythic Mind Humanities Guild
With my dissertation successfully defended, I am preparing to get back to my series on Tolkien’s letters in the very near future. For now, I want to let you know about some exciting things taking place in the Mythic Mind fellowship.
A few weeks ago, my Patreon community hit our next goal, which triggered the launch of an exclusive Discord server. Since the initiation of this new enterprise, we have grown by 60%, making this the largest single-month period of growth so far!
What is so special about this community that is drawing in such a response?
Much of my inspiration for this group can be found in Tolkien’s description of Rivendell:
“And the house of Elrond was a refuge for the weary and the oppressed, and a treasury of good counsel and wise lore."
We aim to become a digital homely house in these dark days. This is a gathering place for Christian readers, scholars, subcreators of various kinds, and general enthusiasts of the humanities. Our aim is to promote upbuilding conversation around books, music, philosophy, history, theology, etc., to collaborate on projects, to offer feedback on works in progress, and to systematically promote each other’s content to the broader world. Whether you are Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant (all of which are already represented), whether you are an established or aspiring writer, a podcaster or a blogger, a scholar or simply someone who loves good stories, this is the place for you.
If you would like to join this guild for as little as $5/month, which helps me to invest more time into making this an enriching experience for everyone, you can head over to patreon.com/mythicmind and sign on at any level. This will also grant you early access to episodes of Mythic Mind, as well as exclusive series, such as the already available series on Grimms’ Fairy Tales and the next exclusive series and book club on the Poetic Edda of Norse mythology.
If you sign on at $10/month, you’ll also get full access to every Substack post.
I hope to see you in our chat very soon!
